11th Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo
September 23rd, 2006

The rain held off and the fish turned on, to make the 11th Annual rodeo one of
the best ever. Over 90 kids and their families met at Flat Rock Lake to
test their luck against the local fish population.
The weigh-in station had barely opened by the time the first channel cat was
hauled out of the water, and the next hour was filled with kid after kid
bringing their catch up to get weighed.
By lunch-time, over 130 fish were brought to the scales, weighed, and eventually
released back into the lake...to be caught again another day.
There were a lot of very nice fish caught, thanks to a fresh stocking provided
by local home builder Chris Malstaff, owner of
Trivision Properties.

The catch of the day was a huge 7.39 pound catfish, caught by 5-yr old Austin
Timmons, fishing in the 5 thru 8 year old Wigglers Division.
Congratulations Austin!
